Class Descriptions

Jazz

 

Get ready to shine on stage! This energetic class focuses on building strong jazz technique and preparing exciting choreography for the dance recital season. Dancers will work on turns, leaps, kicks, stylized movement, and performance skills set to fun, age-appropriate music. Emphasis is placed on precision, musicality, and stage presence to help dancers feel confident and polished in their routines.

Dress Code: Dancers must wear fitted dancewear, skin-tone jazz shoes, and have hair pulled back tightly to ensure focus and freedom of movement.

Strength & Mobility

 

Our Strength & Mobility Class is designed for dancers who are ready to take their fitness to the next level. This class focuses on building strength, improving flexibility, and enhancing joint mobility through challenging exercises and dynamic movements. Participants will work on advanced techniques to increase functional strength, prevent injury, and boost overall athletic performance in a supportive and motivating environment.

 

*Fitted clothing, sneaker or barefoot.

 Ballet

 

This class is ideal for dancers ages 9–12 who have some ballet experience and are ready to build on their foundational skills while preparing for a recital performance. Dancers will focus on proper technique, alignment, and classical ballet vocabulary through barre exercises, center work, and more complex combinations. The class emphasizes developing strength, grace, musicality, and artistry, as well as learning choreography to showcase on stage with confidence and poise.

Dress Code: Fitted dancewear, ballet tights, and pink ballet shoes are required. Hair must be secured neatly away from the face.

 Contemporary

 

This class is perfect for dancers ages 9–12 who have some prior dance experience and are eager to explore the expressive style of contemporary dance while preparing for a recital performance. Dancers will build on their ballet and jazz foundations, learning fluid movements, floor work, improvisation, and dynamic choreography. The class focuses on technique, musicality, emotional expression, and storytelling through movement, helping dancers grow both artistically and technically.

Please note: Dancers must be enrolled in either a ballet or jazz class in order to participate in this contemporary class.

​

Dress Code: Fitted dancewear is required. Dancers will dance barefoot, and hair must be secured neatly away from the face.

Tap

 

This rhythm-filled class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of tap while building on technique, timing, and clarity of sound. Dancers will learn a variety of tap steps, combinations, and choreography that will be performed in the year-end recital. Focus will be placed on musicality, coordination, and building confidence through performance.

Dress Code: Fitted dancewear is required. Dancers must wear black lace-up tap shoes (Bloch full sole tap shoes are recommended). Hair should be pulled back securely.

Hip Hop

 

Our Hip Hop Dance Class for ages is an energetic and exciting way for kids to learn popular hip hop moves while also learning the fundamental roots of hip hop dance ! They’ll develop rhythm, coordination, and confidence! They will learn the basics of popping, breaking, locking & footwork.

 

**Need black sneakers dedicated for indoor use and loose clothing. (no denim)

Acrobatics

 

This fun and challenging class blends strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination through acrobatic movement. Dancers will learn a variety of acro skills including rolls, handstands, bridges, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, and partner work, all taught with a strong focus on safety and proper technique. Class also incorporates conditioning and stretching to support overall skill development and control. A great addition for dancers looking to enhance their athleticism and stage presence! Jazz class is a great pair!!!

Dress Code: Fitted athletic or dancewear is required. No shoes—barefoot only. Hair must be pulled back securely.

Musical Theater​

 

Step into the spotlight with this high-energy class that blends jazz dance technique with the storytelling and performance style of Broadway musicals. Dancers will learn choreography inspired by popular musical theater productions, focusing on expressive movement, character development, and stage presence. Class includes technique drills, stylized combinations, and tips for connecting movement to music and emotion. Perfect for dancers who love to perform, bring characters to life, and shine on stage with both strong dance skills and theatrical flair!

**Must be paired with Jazz!
